Hi Mike & Jayne here. Welcome to the Dog Fleeces blog. You may be thinking that this is a bit of a strange name for a blog, but hopefully the following will give you an idea where we are coming from.
Having just returned from a long walk with the dogs, we are both sipping from a nice hot drink. As we sit we both looked down, we can see our two dogs, we watch them both cleaning themselves up as they lay shivering. This is a scene that has been repeated a number of times in our household, and I am pretty sure the same one repeated in many dog loving households across the world. Looking at them now, they are both look like they are feeling a bit sorry for themselves, probably wishing they could have a dog fleece.
Let me tell you a little about ourselves. I am Mike, a 40 something IT worker and Jayne is a 30 something Checkout operator and mum. Our two dogs are Henry, a 5 year old Beagle and Dexter a 2 year old Border Terrier.

Henry ( What a poser! )Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A young Dexter (In a plant pot!)
Ever since I can remember I have always had a dog, the very first being a cross breed stray, went by the name of Chip, who turned up on my parents doorstep when I was two years old. He lasted a very long time and was 15 or so when he passed away. That took a long time to get over, but eventually Shane arrived, an Alsatian cross and again he was very old when he died. Next up was TJ, a rather daft Dalmatian who passed away after an illness. Then came the latest two, Henry and Dexter. Both dogs have a chalk and cheese personality. Jayne has had pretty much the same experiences, but I will leave it to her to explain her experiences with dogs.
Anyway, getting back to the reason for this blog, cold, wet and miserable looking dogs. This is going to be a regular occurrence now that the winter nights are upon us. We were alright, all wrapped up in our winter jackets and waterproofs and hat / gloves. Whereas the dogs don’t have much protection, beyond their own coats. ‘Time to have a look about to see what we can find for them’ we said to ourselves
I have to admit though, I have always been of the opinion that “They’re dogs, they don’t get cold”, but having got soaked through my self today, then perhaps I was wrong. As I write, Dexter, the Border Terrier, just looks up with an accusing look, as if to say ‘Why did you drag me out in all that wind, rain and cold?’. Ok, I get the point and will get on with the search as soon as possible and look for some dog fleeces, as soon as I have finished my hot drink that is. In the meantime I will have a think about what makes good Dog Fleeces. Any suggestions anyone ?

Hi everybody! I am having a problem with a barking dog and was wondering if any of those electric or spray collars work? I am at my wit’s end and don’t know what to do next. Thanks.
Being a brand new dog owner I welcome all the data here. I would like my four-legged friend to get very well trained and have a wholesome setting to live in. Many thanks for the information and facts.
Recommendations please: tent camping, dog-friendly, river/lake within 2 hours of Edinburgh
